Job DescriptionJob Title: Adult Nurse Lead Organisation: Verity Healthcare Limited Location: London - Field-Based Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Reporting To: Director of Quality & Compliance / Senior Management Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience On-Call: Participation in clinical telephone support rota as required Role Purpose Verity Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced Adult Nurse Lead to provide clinical leadership across our adult complex care and community services. The postholder will oversee clinical assessments, care planning, risk management, staff competency, supervision, incident management and quality assurance to ensure adults receive safe, effective and person-centred care. Key Responsibilities · Undertake initial and ongoing nursing assessments. · Develop and review person-centred care plans, clinical protocols and risk assessments. · Monitor changes in health condition and ensure timely escalation. · Support hospital discharge and transitions
of care. · Provide clinical oversight for complex care packages. · Review medication, safeguarding and clinical incidents. · Lead or contribute to investigations and improvement actions. · Undertake clinical audits and monitor quality standards. · Ensure clinical records are accurate, current and auditable. · Support compliance with CQC, commissioner and organisational requirements. Complex Clinical Care Experience should include some of the following: · Tracheostomy and ventilation · Suctioning and airway management · Oxygen therapy · PEG, PEJ or NG feeding · Catheter and continence care · Stoma care · Diabetes and insulin management · Epilepsy and rescue medication · Medication management · Wound and pressure-area care · Neurological conditions · Acquired brain or spinal injury · Palliative and end-of-life care · Complex mobility and moving and handling Staff Training and Competency · Identify clinical training needs. · Deliver client-specific clinical training. ·
Conduct competency assessments and observations. · Ensure staff are competent before undertaking delegated clinical procedures independently. · Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and refresher training. · Support staff following incidents, performance concerns or changes in clinical needs. · Maintain accurate competency and training records. Leadership and Partnership Working The Adult Nurse Lead will: · Provide clinical guidance to Managers, Coordinators, Nurses and Care Staff. · Support recruitment and clinical assessment of nurses and complex care workers. · Contribute to supervision, probation and performance reviews. · Promote safe, evidence-based and accountable practice. · Work closely with service users, families, GPs, District Nurses, specialist teams, ICBs, Local Authorities, hospital discharge teams and other professionals. Essential Requirements · Registered Adult Nurse with an active NMC PIN. · Strong post-registration nursing experience. · Experience
supporting adults with complex healthcare needs. · Experience in community, complex, acute or critical care. · Experience undertaking assessments and developing care plans. · Experience managing clinical risk and medication. · Experience delivering or assessing clinical competencies. · Experience supervising or supporting clinical staff. · Strong safeguarding knowledge. · Excellent clinical judgement, documentation and communication skills. · Ability to manage a varied caseload. · Ability to travel across London and surrounding areas. Desirable Experience · Previous Clinical Lead, Nurse Lead, Senior Nurse or Complex Care Nurse experience. · Experience in domiciliary care, supported living or complex care at home. · Experience with tracheostomy or ventilation. · Experience with Continuing Healthcare or ICBs. · Experience with clinical audits and incident investigations. · Knowledge of CQC-regulated services. · Teaching, assessing, mentorship or
leadership qualification.
