Full Job Description

The role: The Admissions Officer is primarily responsible for the smooth running and management of the ISEB Common Pre-Test and the Common Entrance testing process for boys who apply to join Harrow School. You will be providing a front-line service for potential applicants and parents as you represent Harrow to those parents who are experiencing us for the first time. You will also contribute to the smooth running of the Admissions Office and assist and support the rest of the team during busy periods.

The skills: The successful candidate will have previously worked in a similar position within a busy office or customer service environment and and will have general office administration experience. You should be confident with the use of all of the applications within the Microsoft Office 365 package; Word, Excel, MS Forms, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams and Outlook. You should have a high standard of verbal and written skills that reflect the Harrow brand; professional, friendly interpersonal skills when liaising with boys, parents and teachers; and excellent organisation abilities using your keen attention to detail.

The environment: Harrow School is situated within a beautiful site in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world, with around 840 boys studying at Harrow. The Admissions Office is the gateway to the School. The Admissions team works with a wide range of parents, preparatory schools and boys in order to identify and guide prospective boys and their parents from initial enquiry through testing towards an offer being made and accepted.

Applications will be processed as they are received and interviews may take place before the closing date, so early application is recommended.

Equality, diversity and inclusion are values that are important to us at Harrow. We believe in diversity of thought and actively welcome everyone regardless of their background to bring their valuable and relevant skills to our community.

Harrow School is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School's Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures at all times.
