This role is based at Hemel General Hospital . The successful candidates will act as a central point for the managing and scheduling of Haematology New appointments and general admin duties., To deal with telephone enquiries from GPs, patients, and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner to ensure that appropriate messages are passed onto the relevant people in a timely fashion. To communicate highly sensitive information to patients / consultants. The Haematology Department has a vacancy for two part time Administrators based at Hemel General Hospital . Experienced and committed, you will provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to the Consultants (including locum doctors), Junior Doctor's, Clinical Nurse Specialist and multi-disciplinary teams. The post covers bookings and co-ordination of Haematology New appointments and general admin duties. The successful applicant will need to have a good general level of education, and possess the essential qualifications outlined in the attached Person Specification. - Good level of education (e.g GCSE Level or equivalent).
- Previous experience in similar role. Knowledge Essential
- Computer literate Experience of Microsoft Office (to include Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Knowledge of NHS guidelines and systems
- Good understanding of the administrative functioning of the office
- Knowledge of national cancer targets.
- Knowledge of Cerner.
- Demonstrable knowledge of full range of administrative and organisational policies and procedures associated with this role Desirable
- Knowledge of speciality.
- Knowledge of managing referral systems such as; ERS Experience Essential
- Customer care experience
- Previous experience of working in a health care setting
- Experience working in a busy/fast paced environment Desirable
- Experience of working in a team.
- Experience of working unsupervised Person Specification Education and qualifications Essential
