An exciting opportunity has arisen within National Deaf CAMHS, Cambridge for a Band 4 Administration Assistant. This rewarding role is based in Bottisham, Cambridgeshire and sits within the Southwest London and St George's CAMHS Directorate (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), specialising in National Deaf CAMHS and supporting services across the East of England. National Deaf CAMHS provides a highly specialised service for deaf children and young people with complex mental health needs, including emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties. The Cambridge team covers the region within East of England e.g Cambridge, Peterborough, Bedfordshire, Herts, Suffolk, Norfolk/Norwich and parts of Essex. - To ensure that computerised records of patient information are maintained and updated.
- Uploading and scanning of all documents onto RiO/care records system as required.
- To implement, maintain and update systems and procedures regarding patient notes, RiO, stationery and stock supplies and the appropriate destruction of confidential material as necessary. · To attend clinical meetings and taken notes / minutes and to distribute to colleagues afterwards. · Respond professionally and appropriately to direct and telephone/minicom /email enquiries from patient, relatives, other services and clinicians. This includes aiding effective communication across the service by providing all staff with relevant messages and information. · To report any maintenance problems/Health and Safety issues in relation to the team base to the relevant service/department. · To reply to email, telephone, written communication from families, colleagues · To handle new referrals and forward to team for triage. · Under instruction from clinical staff to process new referrals. · To book spoken language and BSL interpreters when requested to support team members. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, demonstrate strong administrative skills, and contribute effectively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a specialist national service. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator ideally with experience working within the NHS to work within National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will beworking alongside another team administrator providing admin support to this specialist CAMHs team, who provide treatment and assessment to deaf children across the east of England. The post holder would be expected to work with deaf and hearing colleagues and work with BSL and spoken language interpreters. Full BSL and deaf awareness training will be made available for the post holder alongside BSL interpreter support as required. For those wishing to gain experience and are unfamiliar working within this specialist area will have the opportunity to learn about deaf culture.
The team isbased in Cambridge covering the East of England; however you may occasionally have to provide remote admin support to cover annual leave and sickness to NDCAMHS colleagues in Kent and London.
