Full Job Description

Wollescote Primary School is a welcoming and nurturing primary school seeking a highly organised, friendly, and efficient Administrative Assistant to join our busy school office. This is a vital role at the heart of our school community. You will be the first point of contact for parents, carers, pupils, and visitors, helping to create a positive and supportive environment for our children and families.,

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school office
  • Act as the first point of contact for parents, carers, pupils, and visitors
  • Answer telephone and email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
  • Maintain accurate pupil records using school systems (e.g. MIS)
  • Support attendance monitoring and follow-up procedures
  • Assist with newsletters, letters home, and school communications
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post
  • Support the organisation of school events, trips, and activities
  • Work closely with staff and leadership to support school operations

    We are looking for someone who:
  • Is warm, approachable, and enjoys working in a child-centred environment
  • Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with adults and children alike
  • Has strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; experience with school systems is desirable)
  • Can work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • Has previous administrative experience (school experience is an advantage but not essential)
