Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to work as an Administration Assistant in our Specialist Children and Young Peoples Inpatient Services. You will be the first point of contact working on reception, providing administrative support directly to the ward multidisciplinary team. This is a full time role and the successful applicant will provide a comprehensive administrative support to the service. There is a shift pattern from 07:00 to 21:00 including weekends - 365 days per year including weekends. Early shifts are 07:00 to 15:00, lates are 13:00 to 21:00 Proven experience of workingin similar work environment is an advantage., The post holder may also undertake additional duties as directed by the Administration Manager.

  • Experience of front-facing reception duties.
  • Experience of call handling in a busy environment - It is critical that excellent customer service is delivered in person or over the telephone.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Be able to prioritise a fluctuating workload.
  • Proven experience of working with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Diary management skills to coordinate room bookings.
  • Provides agreed levels of support to the service to maintain cover in the absence of other administrative staff.
  • Desirable: A working knowledge of electronic patient record systems (i.e. RiO)
  • The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate in all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
