Full Job Description
You will provide a high-quality administrative and clerical support service to a busy, multi-disciplinary team. This is a varied role where you'll play a key part in supporting day-to-day operations.,
- Provide clerical and typing support, including maintaining databases and processing information
- Handle telephone and reception duties, demonstrating sensitivity and professionalism when dealing with callers
- Carry out general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and processing financial documentation (including petty cash)
- Support the wider administrative team, including providing cover when required (this may involve travelling to other local sites)
- Maintain and order stationery and office supplies
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the nature and grade of the post, Northumberland County Council's Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. Previous administrative experience is essential - Experience of handling telephone enquiries in a busy environment
- Ability to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role
- Flexible approach to working hours where service needs require
