Full Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Air Traffic Management (ATM) programmes. This role offers the opportunity to work on safety-critical, real-time Air Traffic Control systems, supporting customers who depend on highly reliable software every day.Youll work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, contributing across the full software lifecycle from requirements and design through to delivery and operational deployment. The role involves working on multiple applications, so it suits someone who enjoys variety and structured problem-solving.What Youll Be DoingInvestigating and resolving software and system issuesDeveloping software requirements, designs, and solutionsContributing to architecture and design activitiesBuilding, maintaining, and updating software applicationsProducing and executing software test plansSupporting change, configuration, and release management activitiesWorking closely with Systems Engineering, Test teams, and project stakeholdersEnsuring
all work follows defined engineering processes and software assurance standardsRequired Skills:Proven experience developing real-time, safety-related softwareStrong experience with C++ (experience of Ada, C or similar is beneficial)Experience working to Waterfall and/or V-Model development approachesExperience developing software on Windows and Linux platformsExperience across the full software lifecycle, from requirements through to deliveryBackground in software development, integration, and testStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teamsClear written and verbal communication skillsGood time management and organisational skillsDesirable SkillsKnowledge of ED-109A or similar software assurance standardsExperience with Visual Studio and modern development environmentsExperience of Agile methods (e.g. Scrum)Knowledge of modelling languages (e.g. UML, SysML)Experience with scripting languages such as PythonFamiliarity with Jira
