Activities Coordinator

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of older people? We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, creative and organized Activity Coordinator to join our nursing home team. You will play an important role in promoting the wellbeing, independence, social engagement and quality of life of our residents by providing a varied programme of meaningful and enjoyable activities. 24 Hours Per Week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

Delivering a varied range of activities including arts and crafts, music, reminiscence, games, quizzes, exercise, entertainment and seasonal events. Organising one-to-one and group activities. Encouraging residents to participate while respecting their individual choices and preferences. Organising outings, trips, entertainers, community visits and special events. Developing activities that support residents living with dementia and those with complex care needs. Getting to know residents and incorporating their hobbies, interests, life stories and previous occupations into the activity programme. Working closely with care staff, residents and relatives to identify meaningful activities. Maintaining appropriate records of activities and resident participation. Promoting activities throughout the home and encouraging residents and families to get involved. Keep activity records and other documentation folders up to date. Hold resident and relative meetings periodically

The successful candidate will be: Creative, enthusiastic and full of ideas. Warm, friendly, patient and approachable. Passionate about improving the lives of older people. Confident communicating with residents, relatives, colleagues and external organisations. Well organised and able to plan activities in advance. Confident working independently and using their own initiative. A good team player who works positively with the wider care team. Respectful of residents' dignity, choices, privacy and independence. Flexible and able to adapt activities to suit different abilities and needs. Confident using computers and producing professional written and visual materials. Previous experience working in a care home, nursing home, healthcare or activity's role is desirable. However, we will consider applicants who can demonstrate the right attitude, creativity, organisational skills and genuine passion for working with older people. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS.,
