Full Job Description

We are looking for a warm, creative and enthusiastic Activities Co-ordinator, with previous experience and who has the ability to bring happiness, comfort, fun, compassion and empathy into a room with just a smile. If this sounds like you, we would like to hear from you!

You will need to have a genuine talent for creating personalised activities that truly engage and ensure the social and physical needs of our residents are met.

We are looking for someone who is not afraid to show their enthusiasm by joining in and by being wholeheartedly involved in interesting and varied activities, which have been tailored by you - and chosen by our residents.

The wide range of activities that you will facilitate will need to provide stimulation and exercise, and will promote and encourage independence amongst our residents. You will not be afraid to step outside of the box, but will maintain professionalism and the highest possible care standards at all times.

This exciting and varied role will involve liaising closely with residents, their relatives and friends, and our staff. You will also develop and enhance our links within the local community, therefore you must be a strong and confident communicator. Part of this role will be to take our residents out to appointments, and to take part in activities off site, therefore a driving license is essential.

Oakham Grange is a care home set in the heart of the Barleythorpe community. Our core values of Competence, Choice and Compassion influence everything we do, and this makes us really stand out from the average care home environment.

We are committed to protecting and safeguarding vulnerable adults and successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for regulated activity.

We don't just accept difference, we welcome it. No matter what your sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, gender identity, religion or any other characteristic, we welcome your application. As a team we actively celebrate, support and thrive on diversity for the benefit of our residents and staff, and we believe this creates an environment of empowerment and mutual respect and therefore excellence in care.
