Full Job Description
We're looking for someone who loves the outdoor life and wants to help people to enjoy it in their own way. Our Active Outdoors Assistant role is all about giving people a warm welcome, sharing practical information and offering helpful advice. Whether it's helping with cycle hire or supporting other active outdoor activities, you'll play a key part in making sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable experience., Day to day, you'll be working with volunteers to make sure our bikes are safe and ready to be hired. You'll be advising people on outdoor activities, helping with events like 'parkrun' and community running groups, and generally making sure that everyone has all the information and guidance they need to enjoy their time outdoors. Your job is all about creating the best possible experience for everyone. You'll chat to people to understand their needs and offer relevant advice, while also keeping an eye on safety and maintenance. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; however it is expected that you know how to cycle and would be comfortable hiring out bikes to others.

The advertised salary is inclusive of the Outer London Weighting allowance of 3,315 per annum (prorated if you're part-time) This seasonal, annualised role requires working over Thursdays, Fridays, school holidays, weekends and bank holidays between February and November. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 780 hours per year. For this role, you'll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role. What it's like to work here One of the last surviving country estates in London, Osterley Park and House is a vibrant attraction. The high turnaround of visitors means work is fast-paced, with the team always looking for creative ways to attract greater visitor numbers. Outdoor activities are a key focus, and the estate is part of the National Trust's Cycle Trail project. Osterley Park enjoys a fantastic location just 20 minutes outside of London, so you can travel here by car or public transport. Osterley Park and House also has a garden for all seasons - the gardens are divided into three areas to ensure interest all year round and perfect if you're looking for some garden inspiration!
