Full Job Description
At Royal Holloway, Active Lifestyle & Sport plays a vital role in enhancing the student experience by supporting the physical wellbeing of our university community. Through a wide range of inclusive physical activity and recreational sport opportunities, we aim to create a strong sense of belonging and community across campus.
The Active Lifestyle Officer will be responsible for delivering and expanding participation programmes designed to encourage students to become more physically active. This includes leading the Campus Sports League programme, coordinating activation events and physical activity campaigns, and overseeing the recreational sport provision both at the Sports Centre and across campus.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the university, the Students' Union, and students themselves to develop engaging opportunities that support participation in sport and physical activity. The role also involves line management responsibilities, including supporting and developing the Sport Engagement Coordinator and managing casual staff involved in programme delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills, experience delivering sports or physical activity programmes, and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience within Higher Education sport, student engagement environments, and managing people would be advantageous.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:
# Generous annual leave entitlement
# Training and Development opportunities
# Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
# Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
# Free parking
The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
