This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of Cardiology Advanced Clinical Practitioners at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. Our team of Cardiology ACP's have developed their roles, becoming expert practitioners within the speciality with a wide range of clinical responsibilities caring for patients across the inpatient and outpatient setting. They act as advisors for all members of the MDT, providing support and direct patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment across the Cardiology wards. We are looking for critical thinker with extensive clinical experience within acute cardiology, proven leadership skills, and with excellent communication and organisational skills. This advert is for a qualified ACP and is advertised at Agenda for Change band 8a., You will work closely with our dedicated team of consultants, junior medical staff and the senior nursing team in the delivery of excellent, safe and compassionate care to all patients within the Medicine Division. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to develop their career across cardiology. We are looking for candidates with a wealth of clinical cardiology experience who are keen to develop within the four pillars of advanced clinical practice., The ACP will work as an integral part of the medical workforce, whose daily workload is driven by the medical management of the patients within the service. This will be across the Cardiology directorate, working as part of the medical and wider multidisciplinary team. The ACP will be included in the junior medical Rota collectively providing cover for the acute 24-hour inpatient service. The post holder will take a lead role in the advanced clinical assessment and treatment of patients with highly complex medical and surgical conditions. The ACP will determine clinical diagnosis and treatment plans whilst working with a designated clinical lead/s. They will: Work as an autonomous practitioner in line with the code of conduct and standards of practice of their relevant professional governing body. Working within their personal scope of practice and maintaining professional development needs of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Undertake a significant
clinical caseload to an advanced professional standard using specialist knowledge drawing from theoretical and practical experience to apply critical thinking. Undertake advanced clinical assessment for a caseload of patients, early diagnosis of complications commonly related to the patient group and initiation of treatment plans which are agreed and escalated to senior clinicians within the service. Work within the MDT to ensure onward referrals/pathways are managed appropriately, seeking expertise from specialist services as required. Uphold the agreed set of Trust values and behaviours and are accountable for own attitude and behaviour.

Applications will be considered for appointment as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) from candidates with appropriate clinical experience who can evidence the ability to work autonomously. The successful applicant will be employed at Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 7 while completing a Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice, funded via the apprenticeship route. On successful completion of the MSc and relevant clinical competencies, they will move to an AfC Band 8a., If you are a Skilled Worker/ Health and Care visa applicant and you are coming to work in an occupation defined by the relevant Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code, you will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from any country you have lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, this is also applicable for your adult dependants.
