Accountancy Assistant

This is a fixed term contract to 31st March 2030 offering the opportunity to support qualified and experienced accountants who provide professional financial advice and accountancy support across the organisation. Our work supports directorates, external organisations and joint committees covering both revenue and capital accounting., The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and effective financial support to Housing and Communities and Strategic Partnerships & Transformation directorates. Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with budget preparation, monitoring and financial reporting.
• Supporting compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
• Assisting with capital and revenue accounting processes.
• Supporting completion of grant claims, monitoring and associated audit requirements
  
  We are seeking a motivated Accountancy Assistant to join our dedicated Accountancy Section within the Resources (Finance) Directorate., Possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Have experience in public sector or local government finance (desirable but not essential).
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage., This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check.
