In this role, you will provide essential administrative and organisational support to ensure our Access to Sheffield programmes run smoothly and effectively, while contributing to a positive experience for both participants and partners. You will bring an understanding of the barriers faced by underrepresented groups, alongside a commitment to supporting inclusive approaches that widen participation in Higher Education. Candidates should be educated to a minimum of A level (or equivalent) or have relevant experience, with strong organisational, customer service and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. The Role and Your Impact: As an Access Co-ordinator supporting our Access to Sheffield (Y12-13) activities, you will play a key supporting role in our collaborative activities. You will use your relationship management skills to help coordinate essential activity, supporting the University's reputation and the effective delivery of our targeted interventions. You will contribute to maintaining our reputation for excellent access initiatives that support underrepresented groups by working collaboratively with internal and external partners to help shape and deliver targeted interventions. To be successful, you will bring:
- Strong Organisational Skills: The ability to coordinate event logistics, project plans, and data management effectively.
- A Collaborative Approach: A desire to work within a team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
- Adaptability: The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines to support various programmes. As an Access Coordinator, you will ensure prospective students have a high-quality experience by:
- Coordinating Events: Supporting activities that promote Higher Education (including occasional evening/weekend work with time off in lieu provided).
- Engaging Stakeholders: Acting as a key contact for teachers, parents, and academic staff.
- Supporting Student Staff: Recruiting and guiding University student workers in their roles.
- Data & Finance: Maintaining accurate records and monitoring project spend. Our Department You will join the Access Service in Marketing, Admissions, Recruitment and Communications (MARC), a dedicated team committed to delivering an evidence-based curriculum that enhances equality and inclusion.
