An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Coding department at University Hospital Southampton for an ACC qualified clinical coder. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and motivation to join our friendly team, to help provide high quality coded data for the Trust.
As an Accredited Clinical Coder, you will have experience of coding a variety of specialties that occur within an acute NHS organisation. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and strive to create accurate clinically coded data, embracing the national clinical coding standards, rules, and conventions, to ensure the Trust data is sufficiently robust.
You will work closely with the Clinical Coding Team Leaders and at times support the Trainee Clinical Coders. Being part of the Data & Analytics Team, you may have opportunities to work with Analysts and Developers to find new ways to continually improve and develop tools to enhance the service we provide., To provide high quality and timely coded clinical data, by following the national clinical coding rules and conventions. It is essential to ensure the data is accurate and complete to meet Trust deadlines.
Therefore, you must possess an exceptional attention to detail, be capable of organising your own workload and be able to work under pressure to ensure these strict monthly departmental and national deadlines are met.
