Full Job Description

The Academy Coach will lead the development of a designated Academy age group (U9-U16), delivering high-quality coaching in line with the Club's philosophy and Academy Performance Plan.,

  • Planning, delivering, and reviewing training sessions and match programmes.
  • Managing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and player review processes.
  • Monitoring player progress, attendance, performance data, and succession planning.
  • Providing feedback reports and supporting trialist assessments.
  • Using video analysis and performance data to inform player development.
  • Collaborating with coaching, analysis, sports science, safeguarding, and wider academy staff.
  • Supporting logistics, resources, CPD activities, and compliance with PL/EFL Academy standards., All successful applicants will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check, and will be required to complete safeguarding training as part of the recruitment and induction process.

    Essential
  • UEFA B Licence
  • FA Youth Award
  • Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
  • FA Safeguarding Certification
  • Experience coaching in academy football and developing young players
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and coaching skills, UEFA A Licence
  • Coaching-related degree, QTS, or FA Advanced Youth Award
  • Previous experience across U9-U16 age groups
  • Professional playing experience
  • Full UK driving licence
