Full Job Description

The aim of the current post is to to support a post-doctoral clinical academic to work within the School, to develop her/his skills and expertise, and become an independent researcher in either obstetrics and gynaecology.

The post-holder will work within one of the areas of research excellence, in obstetrics and gynaecology, to publish research work in high-quality journals, and apply for research funding from grant-giving bodies to support own future research. Additionally, they will supervise postgraduate and undergraduate student research.

The role will involve working closely with the West Midlands Secure Data Environment and using the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust/ Dexter maternity data platform to further research into learning health systems to improve maternity care. Prof. Parry-Smith leads the Keele team working the NIHR Midlands Patient Safety Research Collaboration and NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium and the post holder will work closely with these two projects. The role will focus on maternity disparity research and patient safety

In addition, they will continue to work clinically within the NHS in England, in clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology, for up to 5 Programmed Activities (PAs).
