AAA Screening Programme Manager

The AAA Screening Programme Manager will provide operational leadership and day-to-day management of the North East and North Cumbria Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme. The post holder will ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of the screening service across Gateshead and community screening sites throughout the region, supporting early detection of abdominal aortic aneurysms and contributing to improved patient outcomes. The role includes responsibility for programme performance, quality assurance, data management, pathway coordination, staff leadership, service development and partnership working across organisational boundaries. The post holder will work closely with commissioners, NHS England quality assurance teams, the vascular network, primary care, clinical teams and administrative staff to ensure the programme meets national standards, maintains robust governance arrangements and delivers a high-quality service for patients., Provide operational management of the North East and North Cumbria AAA Screening Programme. Coordinate screening services across hospital and community venues, ensuring clinics are staffed, equipped and used effectively. Ensure the programme meets national screening standards, performance requirements and quality assurance expectations. Manage and support the AAA screening team, including recruitment, training, supervision, appraisal and HR processes. Liaise with commissioners, NHS England quality assurance teams, the vascular network, primary care, clinical teams and other stakeholders. Monitor programme performance and activity Analyse, validate and report screening, operational and mortality data, producing reports for programme boards and external review. Lead service development, including reviewing local procedures, SOPs and protocols in line with national guidance. Oversee quality assurance arrangements for staff, equipment, venues and screening processes. Support capacity and demand
planning, ensuring sufficient staff and clinic capacity are available. Manage delegated financial and physical resources, including consumables, equipment and budget monitoring. Represent the programme at local, regional and national meetings. Maintain secure and accurate records, databases and reports in line with data protection requirements.
