To apply clinical knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis and management of individuals with swallowing and/or communication difficulties, providing care that is high quality, person-centred and in line with the up-to-date evidence base.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Acute SLT Team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BHNFT). This role is ideal for a Newly Qualified Practitioner (NQP) or a therapist looking to further develop their clinical skills within a dynamic and supportive acute inpatient setting., To demonstrate excellent communication & interpersonal skills when working with patients, families and within the wider multi-disciplinary team.

To show enthusiasm & proactive contribution to the Speech and Language Therapy Teams expansion across Barnsley Hospital. To follow departmental policies/guidelines and to support the development of innovations in service delivery, taking account of clinical governance.

You will have access to a wide range of internal and external training opportunities, including courses aligned with RCSLT NQP competencies. This may include training that supports progression toward becoming a dysphagia trained practitioner.
