Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic Band 6 Integrated Midwives to join our dedicated maternity team, delivering high-quality care across both hospital and community settings. As an Integrated Midwife, you will play a key role in supporting women and families throughout their maternity journey, delivering compassionate, autonomous and evidence-based care that is safe, personalised and respectful. Working across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services in both community and hospital environments, you will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent outcomes and positive experiences and empower women to make informed decisions about their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for women and babies across the maternity pathway.

Work across a variety of clinical settings, supporting women and families throughout their maternity journey.

Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including obstetricians, neonatal teams, GPs, health visitors, safeguarding professionals and social care partners.

Promote health education and provide information that enables women to make informed choices about their care.

Champion patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Contribute to a positive safety culture through openness, learning and continuous improvement.

Develop and maintain your clinical expertise through completion of the Band 5/6 competency framework and ongoing professional development.

Act as a professional role model, supporting, mentoring and developing student midwives, newly qualified midwives and colleagues.

Participate in the maternity on-call rota and rotational working across community and hospital services to meet the needs of women and families.
