3.5 Tonne Pick-up Driver / Yard Operative, Hereford

JDP Hereford is looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Driver/Yard Operative to join our team. This is a varied role combining customer deliveries with warehouse and yard responsibilities, making it perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of driving, teamwork, and practical hands-on work. What You'll Be Doing Driving & Deliveries

• Safely operate a company 3.5T pick-up vehicle
• Deliver products accurately and on time to customers across Hereford and the surrounding areas
• Plan and follow efficient daily delivery routes
• Complete vehicle checks and maintain high standards of road safety
• Provide excellent customer service at every delivery point
• Follow all relevant driving legislation and company procedures
Yard & Warehouse Operations
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently
• Support stock management and stock checks
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the branch runs smoothly each day
• Assist customers and support the wider team whenever needed
  
  What We're Looking For
Essential Full UK Driving Licence Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements Knowledge of driver regulations and safe driving practices Ability to plan routes and manage deliveries effectively Strong communication and customer service skills A positive, hardworking attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work as part of a small, supportive team Desirable FLT (Forklift Truck) experience Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, builders' merchant, or distribution environment If you're dependable, customer-focused, and enjoy a role that combines driving with practical yard operations, we'd love to hear from you.
