1819 - Occupational Therapist

1. The post holder will work in a variety of clinical areas, specialising in each area for a period of six months. 2. To manage a defined clinical caseload, with support and supervision of Senior Occupational Therapist. To work in partnership with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team to identify relevant goals. To conduct the assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients, documenting input and communicating as appropriate with hospital based Multidisciplinary Team and partner agencies. 3. The post holder will be a key player in the planning of safe and effective patient discharges appropriate to the clinical area. 4. To actively participate in continual professional development (CPD). 5. To take some responsibility for work experience, observational students and support staff.

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapists to join the Band 5 Occupational Therapy Rotation at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking highly motivated Occupational Therapists with good assessment and treatment planning skills. You will also have excellent team working, time management and communication skills.

• Orthopaedics and Surgery (including Elective Orthopaedics)
• Medical Early Intervention (including areas such as Care of The Elderly, Cardiology and Respiratory)
• Discharge to Assess (community)
• Stroke and Neurology
• Urgent Care (covering Accident and Emergency, Frailty and Short Stay areas)
• Acorn Rehabilitation Unit (in-patient rehabilitation)
Successful candidates will be expected to work in a flexible way to cover a 7-day working week within an 8-6pm working pattern. Successful applicants will be expected to drive their own car or be working towards this. We also offer:
