1:1 Teaching Assistant - St Helens

Desian Education are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in St Helens that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint an experience and reliable teaching assistant for a 1:1 position within a reception class.

Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining an experienced and supportive cohort, working in collaboration with a Year 1 class teacher to promote the engagement and focus of pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment and building strong constructive relationships. Your main responsibility will be to support a high function ASD pupil on a 1:1 basis. This pupil is and extremely outgoing and bright individual but due to an additional PDA diagnosis they can become dysregulated and disengaged with learning. To promote their attainment you will deliver a pupil-led curriculum model to lead them to learning and associate lesson material with their key interests.
What you need to succeed
+ Full "Right to Work" in the UK
+ Be at least NQV Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
+ Experience supporting SEN, ASD is advantageous

+ Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
