1:1 Specialist SEND Support Assistant (Complex SEND Needs)
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and highly skilled Specialist SEND Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with complex SEND needs.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with autism, sensory processing differences, emotional regulation needs and communication difficulties. You will play a vital role in helping the child access learning, build positive relationships and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience working with children with complex SEND
- Understands autism-informed, trauma-aware and low-arousal approaches
- Can remain calm and consistent during periods of dysregulation
- Is skilled at adapting communication and supporting emotional regulation
- Can build trusting, positive relationships with children and families
- This is a child-specific role focused on implementing strategies and interventions outlined within the child's EHCP.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
