1:1 Pastoral Support Worker - Medical

We are seeking a Pastoral Support Assistant to join our specialist education team, providing dedicated support to a student with epilepsy who requires constant supervision and tailored support throughout the school day. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in helping a young person access education safely, confidently and successfully. Working closely with teachers, therapists, care staff and families, you will help create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will provide both educational and pastoral support, enabling students to access learning while promoting their independence, wellbeing and personal development. What you'll be doing

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with epilepsy, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and engagement in learning.
• Support teachers to deliver high-quality, inclusive learning experiences tailored to individual student needs.
• Assist students to access the curriculum, develop independence and achieve their personal goals.
• Implement and contribute to support plans, risk assessments, behaviour strategies and student records.
• Support students with personal care, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour management where required.
• Work collaboratively with education, care and therapy teams, maintaining effective communication with families and colleagues.
  
  Experience supporting students with autism, epilepsy, SEND and/or behaviours that challenge.
• Experience working in an education, residential or care setting.
• Calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or willingness to work towards)
• Level 2 SEN qualification desirable.
• Driving licence desirable
