Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed 1.0 Lecturer Coordinator in Pathways to support learners across our full-time and home elective provision. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and nurturing practitioner with a strong understanding of SEND, additional learning needs and supporting young people who may require a more individualised approach to education. Pathways is designed as a supportive stepping stone into mainstream college provision, helping learners to build confidence, independence, resilience and the skills needed for successful progression.

The Pathways curriculum combines learning with meaningful practical experiences, including vocational taster sessions across the College, enabling learners to explore different curriculum areas and make informed choices about their next steps. Enrichment and life skills are central to the programme and include activities such as cookery, independent living skills and the development of the College allotment, providing opportunities to promote teamwork, communication, wellbeing and sustainability. The role will also involve developing strong relationships with local charities, community organisations and key stakeholders, creating opportunities for learners to contribute positively to their local community.

At Bishop Auckland College Group, we are proud to offer our Step into Teaching Programme, providing flexible routes into a rewarding career in Further Education, including funded training, paid employment while you qualify and dedicated mentoring.

We are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing, creative and resilient, with experience of SEND, nurture provision or supporting young people with additional needs, and who is passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and successfully transition and progress into mainstream College programmes, further training or employment.

Bishop Auckland College Group are committed to and value equality of opportunity, inclusion and diversity.

Bishop Auckland College Group are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all learners and any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as well as other required pre-employment checks.
