This is an experienced practitioner role, with specific responsibilities for managing the more complex Looked After Children case work and care proceedings.

To make effective and efficient decisions within a statutory framework to ensure that Looked After Children with complex needs achieve permanence and are safeguarded.

To be ambitious and effective in your practice to help change lives and make a sustainable difference. Be innovative, creative and passionate when working directly with families.

1 To hold a protected case load of the more complex and sensitive Looked After Children cases and deal with them effectively and efficiently to ensure that complex needs are identified, risk assessments are regularly updated and care plans are in place to meet identified needs.

2 To work in partnership with peers across the service and represent the service to external agencies, including court attendance, to ensure that care plan meets the needs and safety of the child.

1 To ensure that agreed plans for the care of children and service provision are implemented, monitored and reviewed.

2 To chair meetings, including some reviews, core group meetings and planning meetings, to ensure care plans are in the best interests and safety of the child.

3 To make recommendations to the manager about the need for legal action about a child.

4 To maintain and update case notes and other records, write reports as required in accordance with policies and procedures.

5 To cover in the absence of the manager as required.

6 To undertake other duties which might be reasonably requested by the manager.

Interested candidates should have;

* Post qualifying experience of working as a Senior Practitioner within LAC

* ASYE Certification if UK trained

If successful you can expect the following;

* Start ASAP

* 36 hours per week
