My client, who is one of the top environmental consultancies in the UK and a Sunday Times Fast Track 200 company, is looking to recruit a Bid Writer to join their team in South East London.
Key Elements of Role
Taking ownership of bids
Developing ways to position the client as a leading provider of property solutions to private and public sector clients within the context of bids
Writing creative and compelling copy which communicates the client’s solutions to tender opportunities
Maintaining an understanding of best practice in bid writing and communication
Continually improving the quality of submissions to deliver winning bids
Sharing your knowledge and expertise
Key Responsibilities:
* Taking ownership of delivering bids across a wide range of values, sectors and services. Value range from thousands to multi-million pound projects.
Sectors include:
Housing
Education
Healthcare
Leisure
Commercial
Civic/ Government
Justice
* Working with the Technical Bid Lead (Senior Manager or Partner) to identify and develop the bid proposition and a strategy for winning the bid
* Copywriting and editing RFP, RFQ, SQ and ITT answers in line with the win strategy, based on a range of sources including previous submissions and material developed with technical staff
* Undertaking production of final submission documents and presentation materials. Making use of InDesign whenever possible
* Working throughout the Practice to ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
* Working with Business Development Partner and colleagues to manage submission and tender workload
* Ensuring all relevant management information is captured
* Maintaining, updating and improving practice information such as CVs, qualification lists, project lists, project sheets etc
* Supporting the use and improvement of Business Development systems and software
* Developing the Practice’s use of Indesign to support bids
* Attending business development and marketing meetings
* Attending events where necessary
* General support as required in connection with business development and marketing activities
Candidate Qualities:
* A passion for communicating through the written word
* A strong desire to win and go the extra mile
* Ability to generate winning submission material from scratch, not simply to edit material created by others.
* Must be able to work with senior professional and technical staff and managers within a professional technical partnership environment
* Experience and understanding of the services that a multi-disciplinary property consultancy provides is a requirement
* Full understanding of the submission process for architectural and construction consultancy services who supply the public sector is a requirement
* Ability to work alongside other professionals, take day to day responsibility for his/her own work and manage resources to deliver multiple projects simultaneously to tight deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail matched with the ability to think strategically.
* Evidence of academic attainment
* Ability to create and edit documents that are visually pleasing and straightforward to read
* Skilled in DTP in indesign and as well as standard Microsoft packages (word, powerpoint, excel). Understanding of Prezzie is a bonus.
* Capable of working to deadlines and staying calm under pressure.
