Material Planner- Permanent- Full Time- Great Yarmouth- £22K (Dependant on Experience)

In this role, as a Material Planner you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of the movement of all materials through the production cycle. You will determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements.

Roles and responsibilities-

  • Generation and scheduling of works orders received from customer services
  • Coordination of materials requirements from internal and external suppliers
  • Obtain supplier delivery schedules and analyse against current schedules
  • Maintain and manage open order book to reflect current expected schedule
  • Provide timely feedback to customer services on significant schedule changes and corrective actions
  • Assess and coordinate customer expedite requests and feedback to customer service as appropriate
  • Monitor supplier deliveries to ensure constant materials supply to production
  • Coordinate daily shipping schedules to logistics department
  • Daily reporting on key performance indicators to leadership team
  • Proactive identification of lead time improvement opportunities to meet customer requested deliveries

Our ideal candidate will have-

  • Previous experience in materials planning, production scheduling or projects coordination roles
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Sage 200 desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office package, particularly MS Excel
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong team working skills to collaborate across numerous departments
