Trainee Reporter, Barking

Archant is looking for a trainee reporter to join a talented news teams working on two east London and supporting websites: the Romford Recorder and Ilford Recorder.

The successful candidate will hold an NCTJ diploma, have excellent writing skills, be able to bring in exclusive stories in a busy and diverse news patch, and have the ability and talent to provide outstanding multimedia content for our newspapers and online.

Candidates will combine sound news judgement and multimedia awareness to build on our reputation for insightful and informative community journalism.

With an integrated print/web content system, the potential for development is enormous and the successful candidate will be expected to play a role in shaping our news coverage across multiple platforms.

We would like to recruit an individual who fully understands, and is keen to reflect, the needs of our communities and audiences, and who is willing to deliver content in many different ways.

We offer a comprehensive range of benefits that include five weeks holiday per annum, life insurance and contributory pension scheme. We also run a wide voluntary benefits scheme, incorporating a Cycle to Work scheme and Archant Gold, which is our charity matched funding scheme.
