About the Opportunity:

Working predominately at our YW EITSA Framework Facility based in Rotherham South Yorkshire, and occasionally at our Humber Facility within our Enterprise Asset Solutions business, you will be part of a small, dedicated framework client focused electrical engineering and DSEAR team in the role of Electrical Verifier and DSEAR compliance / Design Technician. The role involves the completion of various contract client technical Electrical and DSEAR documentation, assisting with the costing and procurement of electrical and ATEX materials, goods, and services through the Jacobs iProcurement system, up-dating various progress trackers, up-loading and up-dating client's documentation on their remote SharePoint platforms and general reporting in line with the contract KPI's. supporting other team members and covering other administration roles within this framework and working on and supporting our NICEIC / ATEX accreditation as required. The individual will be engaged in multiple diverse assets
on the current Yorkshire Water Electrical Framework within the National Operations LOB. We are seeking an aspiring or developing ATEX / DSEAR person to engage with all the Yorkshire Water Framework's operational teams through the current project portfolio of works within the UK Water utilities sector and working / supporting other regions of the UK as required, the candidate will work collaboratively with the client, engaging directly with the two YW EITSA & Land and Properties back office delivery team's, ensuring the Electrical and ATEX / DSEAR governance of the key deliverables outputs are met, whilst contributing to the safe delivery of the contract and adding value through innovation and best practices whilst supporting the wider Jacobs Enterprise Asset Solutions Electrical team with our NICEIC / ATEX accreditation and Industry-leading standards.

  • Verifying Completed workbooks and documentation in line with the client's management procedures and Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) in accordance with EN 60079-17: 2007;

  • Verifying existing electrical Single line Diagrams and test data using the Trimble AMTECH suite of software;

  • Assist with the identification, specification and procurement of remedial materials, goods, and services through the Jacobs iProcurement system, goods receipting and progressing materials to meet the dates for the planned work;

  • Cover other administrative tasks for other colleagues for planned absence, holidays, and sickness cover;

  • Ability to work on own initiative and work co-operatively with others in the team to complete tasks and implement process in line with the clients KPI's and end to end process in the timescales dictated in the contract;

  • Ability to log in client's various portal systems and up-load, download documentation, up-date clients progress trackers as required under the contract, whilst ensuring that statistical tracker information is collated and updated and accurate for Internal Operational Progress Reports / Client reports and progress meetings;

  • Attend site on occasions to review inspection teams' data input, offer assistance / solutions to technical queries;

  • Participate in developing the growth of the team and wider Jacobs's growth strategies.


  • Here's what you'll need:
  • Minimum of a NVQ Level 3 Installing Electrical Wiring Systems (apprenticeship served);

  • Comp Ex Ex01-Ex04 minimum qualification;

  • C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification and an in-depth understanding of the IET BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Regulations and the 1989 Electricity at Work Regulations;

  • English and Mathematics GCSE Grade C or above;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels of an organisation;

  • Experience costing remedial works and looking to obtain or are already working towards gaining a relevant level 4 professional diploma;

  • Site and Electrical Engineering experience / knowledge is essential, whilst training and mentoring in all aspects of the roll will be given;

  • UK Citizenship.
