Full Job Description

Are you an experienced professional with a passion for supporting children and young people with autism and other learning
disabilities to live an empowered and fulfilling life?

Then a Youth Engagement Worker role at Aspens could be just the role for you!

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ever-expanding staff team within Aspens.

This is a role working across both our children's and specialist support services to provide a positive behaviour support (PBS)
model to engage young people who have complex needs, which inhibit them from accessing school or college, resulting in increased
isolation and withdrawal from community and group-based activities.

As a Youth Engagement Worker you will be required work in a variety of settings to develop, plan and participate in programmes of
work with parents/carers, adults, young people and children. This may include work in educational, community or residential
setting., Any offer is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check, which we will complete on your behalf if you don't already have
one, and satisfactory employment references. We will consider job share and part time arrangements for all posts in line with the
needs of the Charity.

Aspens Charities are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment, we are proud to be an equal opportunity
employer.

PLEASE NOTE: It is a condition of your employment with Aspens Charities that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have
received both vaccinations by 11 November 2021 and that you comply with weekly testing.

As a Youth Engagement Worker at Aspens you should have previous experience working or volunteering with children and young people
with autism, learning disabilities and other complex mental health concerns or behavioural concerns.

The ideal candidate will also have an A-Level equivalent in Social Sciences along with a L3 equivalent in Health and Social Care
or Child Care.

The role involves working with vulnerable young people and their families both at home and in the community, so experience of
safeguarding and understanding of safeguarding processes is very important.

It would also be beneficial to have some experience and understanding of the delivery of positive behaviour support models and the
ability to support those who have historically struggled to engage with services.

The role involves travel in the local area and so it is essential that you hold a full, clean driving licence, have access to your
own vehicle and are happy to travel as part of your role., Disability Confident
