Full Job Description

Reporting to The Workshop Manager

Scope:

To work in a small team with carpentry skills, laminating panels and constructing exhibition stands. Speed and quality are a priority, fabricating lightboxes, wall panels and metal frame structures. The ability to read production drawings and working from 3D visuals will benefit the candidate. Exhibits are built in our workshop and transported to site for erection, it is important they arrive in the same condition they leave the workshop. Packing and safe loading will reduce timely repairs on site. You will be required to travel to sites, mainly Exhibition Centres in the UK but Shopping Centres and Showrooms are occasionally site locations to setup displays. A basic Health and Safety understanding is essential to maintain a safe and clean environment in the workshop.

Duties:

  • Produce exhibits using woodworking techniques.

  • Keeping the workshop tidy.

  • Maintaining records for safety checks on equipment.

  • Managing Health and Safety issues.

  • Regular communication with management to keep up to date with projects.

  • Maintaining the storeroom and monitoring stock, providing inventory of stock.

  • Managing the storage of client exhibits, providing inventory of stored exhibits.

    An understanding of construction drawings and exhibition construction techniques.

  • The ability to prioritise workloads to ensure projects are completed on time and in budget.

  • The ability to communicate effectively.

  • A good understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.

  • The ability to work as part of a team.

  • Possess good carpentry skills and production techniques.


  • Applications received will only be considered for candidates that have exhibition or carpentry experience and can commute/drive to our workplace in Lincolnshire. Re-location will be an acceptable alternative.
