Full Job Description

This placement is unpaid. The successful applicant will assist a multi-disciplinary team to provide the London Scottish Strength & Conditioning Programme to the professional playing squad whilst being submersed in a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

The club prides itself on the success of its intern programmes in recent years, with a number of placements taking up successful roles afterwards, such as S&C coaches at Italy U19 and Benetton Rugby, Nutritionist at Millfield School, S&C coach at Warrington Wolves Women, and 2 x further internships at Harlequins RFC (Analyst and S&C) alongside studies.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will have access to the following throughout their placement with London Scottish:

§ Ongoing mentoring and integration within the London Scottish setup

§ Networking opportunities throughout placement

§ Opportunities to assist the squad on away trips, including against Premiership sides

§ Currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate study within a relevant subject area

§ Seeking placement as part of university endorsed placement scheme (sandwich year or equivalent)

§ Have experience providing strength & conditioning services to high-level athletes, preferably within team sports

§ Possess strong aspirations to pursue a career in strength & conditioning

§ Evidence of up-to-date knowledge of strength & conditioning theory and its practical application within team sport

§ Good organizational and communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

§ UKSCA Accreditation

§ Competent & confident in the use of Microsoft Excel and TeamBuildr

§ Qualified first aider

§ Experience with GPS devices

Work Pattern: PART-TIME (Training x2 evenings p/week; Games x1 Saturday afternoon, and occasional Friday evening)

Salary: VOLUNTARY (must be part of university work-placement scheme)
