Full Job Description

The Welder is responsible for welding both HVAC products and specialist ventilation system products for safety critical facilities. This role requires a combination of technical expertise & precision across various product types/materials. This role reports directly to production supervision & sits within the operational level of the business.

Responsibilities

The Primary responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to the following.

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with weekly plans.

  • Perform welding tasks on both stainless steel & carbon steel HVAC products ranging from 1.5mm to 10mm.

  • Complete general welding duties associated with all product types (Folded & Welded) in accordance with welding procedures.

  • Complete weld repair activities in accordance with welding procedures.

  • Understand & comply with associated welding standards.

  • Assist & support sheet metal workers during tacking tasks during manufacture.

  • Complete basic fabrication tasks to support manufacture.

  • Comply in full of manufacturing SHEQ best practice/ behaviors and legislation.

  • Support the manufacturing team in achieving deliverables.

    The purpose of this section is to detail both essential (minimum) requirements & desirable attributes for this role:


  • Essential:
  • Experienced qualified coded welder.

  • Experience welding both stainless steel & carbon steels ranging from 1.5mm to 10mm.

  • Experience with both Tig & Mag welding processes.

  • Basic knowledge to interpret manufacturing drawings and engineering information.

  • Basic fabrication knowledge to support manufacturing assembly.

  • Basic knowledge in using a variety of power/hand tools.

  • Overhead crane Experience (training will be provided).

  • Self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative & with others safely & efficiently.


  • Desirable:
  • HVAC Experience.

  • Nuclear Quality related Experience., MIG welding: 1 year (preferred)

  • Fabrication: 1 year (preferred)
