Full Job Description

Ipswich Borough Council are seeking Waste and Fleet - Loaders to join our refuse & cleansing team of essential key workers. A great opportunity to develop within a thriving team supporting the residents of Ipswich and help make a positive difference to the environment we live and work in.

Join a supportive council that offers opportunity to develop and progress. Refuse & Cleansing have an active apprenticeship program available to gain sought-after HGV qualifications whilst you work as a loader, subject to eligibility and availability.

After full training you'll join a team completing Refuse and Recycling collections daily, gaining knowledge of all machinery used. A comprehensive manual handling training program will be delivered to ensure safe operation as the role involves considerable bending, lifting, and walking. You'll be a key front-line face of Ipswich Borough Council, providing community continuity and offering excellent customer and client interaction on recycling and refuse.

The role is 37 hours per week, based on Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate. Working hours are Tuesday to Friday with some bank holidays contracted. Full uniform is provided.
