Full Job Description

  • Consistent daily usage of the ERP system SAP to facilitate warehouse stock management

  • Management of team's skills capability, enforcing a right first-time culture

  • Compliance with internal BAE Systems & financial requirements - where applicable

  • Complete accurate project bookings and cost capture, expediting urgent requirements within the area

  • Provide local leadership, managing team's absence & performance within a high performing culture

  • Identify opportunities to drive efficient delivery within area of control through use of process improvement methodology

  • Create standard work/Toolbox talks and align multiple warehouses inclusive of standards such as 5S, The current logistics organisation within Ship Repair run on behalf of the MOD. There are 6 Warehouse locations within the Portsmouth Naval Base, and this role is to manage these via designated Team Leaders ensuring that the relevant resources, skills and processes are in place to deliver business agility, efficiency, and safety to meet the ship repair operational needs in relation to the MOD requirements.

    Evidence of having created and managed multiple Warehousing/Logistics Teams to deliver Aftermarket support in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of Stocking policies, identification of Manual Handling Equipment to meet customer needs, MRP Tools, Stock Taking/Audit processes

  • Knowledge of 5S or Similar Practice

  • Delivery of Cultural change


  • Desirable:
  • Operational improvement techniques and methodology, i.e., problem solving skills akin to Six Sigma

  • Knowledge of PDCA, DRIVER, DMAIC or similar CI type Tools

  • Experience of supporting Ship Engineering or similar. Open to other industries
