Full Job Description

The efficient operation of the Kent Vineyard is imperative to Gusbourne; achieving and maintaining high standards of quality in all that we do is an everyday priority. The role of the Vineyard Manager is pivotal to the success of the Vineyard operation year-on-year. In all aspects of the role, focus and attention to detail are required, this needs to be balanced with effective team leadership and setting positive and clear direction.

The environment in which we operate is one based on continuous improvement and therefore requires a flexible, highly-trained individual to be able to cope with the evolving demands of the viticulture industry.

You will be confident, self-motivated, and a strong leader who is prepared to recognise when commitment is required to secure productivity, efficiency and safety in your area of responsibility. Additionally, you will be prepared to develop the competence required for both you and your team, to progress to achieve maximum potential within your role.

Your role is to be an effective leader, striving to continually add value to the work of your team and Gusbourne.

Main Responsibilities

We will be looking to recruit someone who can demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, qualities, and experience:

  • Maintaining the current established standards, so that the team routinely meets the required performance targets and standards for: safety, quality, quantity, training, housekeeping, and behaviour.

  • Questioning (and encouraging the team to question) the current practices to try to identify ways of improving performance in terms of safety, quality, output, cost, time, etc.

  • Identifying areas where the team performance may be improved, planning, and implementing changes to establish a new improved standard of performance.

  • Passing on ideas for improvements outside the scope of the team to the relevant personnel within Gusbourne.

  • All activities will be carried out in accordance with Company Policy in relation to both health and safety and operational requirements.

  • You will be required to liaise with all teams across the business at Gusbourne and external contacts as required.
