Full Job Description

  • Working with colleagues and fellow team members in a positive, enthusiastic and proactive way to deliver high quality project work

  • Work with calmness and maturity in times of pressure

  • Leading and assisting, as necessary, the design of large-scale and high-profile masterplans and urban design projects

  • Acting as Group Leader on key aspects of projects (leading the urban design aspect of a multi-disciplinary project)

  • Coordinating and managing the technical inputs of some junior colleagues, and occasionally external consultants

  • Writing reports, creating presentations, drawings, diagrams, technical drawings, and other deliverables, ensuring timely submission and high-quality output

  • Writing and preparing proposals for new projects, including evaluating scopes of work and structuring proposals

  • Interacting with clients through meetings and presentations

  • Supervising and guiding junior colleagues, including urban planners, urban designers, and interns.

    A bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning or Architecture and a postgraduate degree/diploma in Urban Design

  • Minimum of 7-8 years of relevant work experience in a multi-disciplinary design environment, with a focus on urban planning and design projects

  • Good design, writing, and presentation skills

  • Display an attention to detail and care in production of work material

  • A good knowledge of current urban design and masterplanning best practices and sustainable development

  • Display initiative, motivation, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A good understanding of UK and International design and planning processes and the role of all necessary disciplines within a project team

  • Strong sketching ability is a plus

  • Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of a second language is an added bonus

  • Good written, listening and verbal communication skills

  • Experience of working in the Middle East and or Africa

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite is required

  • General knowledge of the following common software types is important with good knowledge in some of the following:

  • Autodesk products such as Civil3d and AutoCAD

  • ESRI products including CityEngine and ArcGIS

  • Sketchup

  • Twinmotion or Lumion
