Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a number of experienced Upholsterers who will be responsible for producing seating products by using skills to upholster, cover and finish to a high standard.,

  • To prepare fabric and components for use in upholstery and/or soft furnishings.

  • To prepare to upholster items of furniture involving preparation of the frame for upholstery, application of suspensions and filling materials.

  • To competently fix upholstery to standard items of modern furniture and traditional furniture using a hand held staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.

  • Application of mesh material into plastic back using air hammer and hands.

  • To competently fix upholstery to standard items of modern furniture and traditional furniture using a hand held staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.

  • Maintaining a high level of quality and meeting production efficiency.

  • Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery.

    High degree of upholstery skills

  • The ability to produce a good quality product with excellent attention to detail.

  • Practical skills, manual dexterity, especially hand skills and co-ordination.

  • A positive mind-set with a 'can do' attitude.

  • The aptitude to assimilate techniques.

  • Manual handling, as some lifting is required.

  • Ability to use own initiative and to work quickly to meet production deadlines.

  • Measuring and cutting skills would also be beneficial.
