We have an excellent opportunity for a Unit Finance Manager to join our finance team at the Nuffield Department of Medicine which comprises a number of Units within the UK and Overseas.
You will be responsible for the production of monthly finance reports for specific Units as well as setting annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. You will be reporting to the Deputy Head of Finance and working closely with the Unit Business Manager to ensure that strong financial controls are in place across the Unit along with providing financial advice and support to the Unit Business Manager and working with them to review financial impact of various projects, grants, trust funds and small research facilities.
You will help maintain relationships across the wider University and with partner organisations, providing expert opinion and advice and contributing to University wide goals, sharing best practice and keep abreast of changing environment and policy.

It is essential that you are currently studying towards a relevant CCAB or CIMA professional accountancy qualification (successfully completed foundation level or equivalent or higher) or are already qualified. You will have experience of financial IT systems e.g. Oracle, SAP, in a large accounting environment along with a high level of numeracy and IT literacy, particularly in the use of spreadsheets, MS word and Outlook. You will also have ability to work in a collaborative manner and confidently communicate with senior managers, building effective working relationships whilst challenging and guiding decisions.
