Full Job Description

We're looking for a UK Audit Senior Manager to join our Corporate Audit team who will play a critical role in managing the audit process for Electricity Distribution and Transmission businesses in the UK, including risk assessment, audit execution, and reporting results.

Reporting to the Head of Audit - Business Units, the UK Audit Senior Manager - Electricity Distribution and Transmission, will collaborate with the Head of Audit for Business Units to deliver the established mandate, governance and corporate responsibilities ensuring strategic alignment of the Corporate Audit function with Audit and Risk Committee expectations.

This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we'd hope to see you at least 2/3 days per week but you're welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We're happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

What You'll Do

  • Manage and coordinate the execution of audits across the businesses, ensuring that audit testing plan is properly focused on delivering value to the business, and are consistently delivered to a high-quality standard and on schedule.

  • Conduct second-level reviews of audit plans, workpapers, and reports, ensuring accurate and independent assurance and reporting to the highest professional and ethical standards in line with International Internal Auditing Standards.

  • Own responsibility for the execution of audits in the Electricity Distribution and Transmission businesses, with a focus on agility and innovation for value adding and timely delivery.

  • Effectively supervise the daily work activities of Senior Auditors and Auditors, and mentor, coach, and teach as needed.

  • Lead with intellectual rigor and emotional agility to break down organizational silos and create a transparent environment across the UK businesses.

  • Support the development and implementation of an integrated assurance approach, working with business risk management and assurance functions.

  • Support audit teams by clearly defining the objectives and scope of each review, employing critical thinking and appropriate testing methodologies, and sharing detailed findings and recommendations to mitigate risk.

  • Demonstrate, encourage, and recognize a continuous improvement mindset in the audit function: stay abreast of new and emerging regulations and trends that impact the risk function; identify and integrate best practices; and drive operational excellence through the use of available tools and resources.

  • Support Head of Audit - Business Units with coordination between Strategy and Operations function to oversee audit administration activities, including staffing, scheduling, budget management, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the plan.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Business Unit executives to identify and understand business changes and developments and professional leading practice.

  • Support Head of Audit - Business Units in providing the Group Head of Audit with an accurate, independent, and objective assessment of key risks, major control weaknesses and governance through execution of the Audit Plan and deep understanding of the Business Units risk management framework.

  • Provide ongoing updates to Head of Audit - Business Units on progress and audit outcomes.

    A Qualified Accountant, ideally with an external audit, internal audit or consulting background.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB Auditing Standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, risk and controls standards and SOx compliance requirements.

  • Good understanding of core financial processes.

  • Broad exposure and experience in and comprehensive understanding of internal audit, internal controls and risk management.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to use data and a cogent problem-solving methodology in decision making and impact assessment. Demonstrate problem solving skills in a complex environment, including demonstrating logical and sophisticated analytical thought processes, interpretive thinking, complex judgement.

  • Proven ability to initiate, support, and manage change within the organization, taking steps to remove barriers and to accelerate its pace.

  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and collaboration skills.

  • Strong results orientation.

    Up to £89,000 depending upon experience.
