Turkiye / UK Business Development Coordinator

Overall Role Purpose:

The role of the Turkiye / UK Business Development Coordinator, is to help manage, develop and grow our overall market share & customers on key import and export trade routes between the UK and Turkiye, for Ocean and Airfreight. The prime activities are customer facing, however this will also involve providing internal operational support and coordination as required. Requiring a highly pro-active approach to customer communications, development, management and retention, as well as developing new business opportunities with both UK and Turkiye based shippers and consignees.

Key Activities:

  • In a customer facing role, pro-actively engage and manage existing, new and prospect customers to retain and grow our business. Pro-actively communicate with shippers & consignees on shipment statuses and follow up for future bookings. Regularly meet face to face with UK and TR based shippers and Consignees.

  • Operational support and escalation - support retention and growth of important clients.

  • Network & connect TR and GB stations and their customers to ensure we capture available share of wallet opportunities, including long term and shorter additional/transactional opportunities from such customers.

  • Market research and knowledge - Study and identify market opportunities, growth sectors, and areas where DHL are strong, and subsequently identify and help to develop new target customers specific to our routes to and from Turkiye.

  • Bilateral Strategy and Engagement - Support the bi-lateral TR/GB development plan, and maintain an ongoing engagement structure with the UK and overseas stakeholders to support the overall trade lane development initiatives -

  • Become the 'Subject Matter Expert' for the UK and TR and work closely with all UK and TR sales, product and management to grow our business.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company regulations and policies.

  • Strong understanding of the Freight Forwarding Industry

  • IT - generalist knowledge - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM etc.

  • Requirement to travel nationally and internationally when justified by business development

  • Strong experience in Freight Forwarding and or relevant transport, supply chain, logistical experience including demonstrable experience in customer facing roles.


  • LOCATION: Felixstowe

    HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
