The post-holder is responsible and accountable for managing the day to day work of the Theatre Decontamination Unit. Ensuring that all instruments are correctly accounted for and tracked post-procedure and ensuring that all instruments are received in good and timely order from our off-site decontamination unit. To provide supervision to the Decontamination Technicians within the team and to provide support to the Theatre team., To receive contaminated reusable medical devices (instruments) from the Theatre and ensure they are packaged ready for transport to the off-site sterilisation unit. To ensure all instruments are tracked as per national guidance To ensure all reprocessed instruments are returned from the off-site sterilisation unit and returned to the correct areas within Theatre.
