Transport Controller

As a Transport Controller/Driver, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our daily operations . This role primarily involves office based responsibilities, such as booking jobs to drivers, managing customers, Quoting jobs and handling administrative tasks such as POD's. However, you will also be required to step into a driving role when needed, particularly for holiday cover and loading from time to time., Transport Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate routes for drivers.
Monitor vehicle movements and provide updates customers.
Ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.

Driver Support: Provide guidance and support to drivers, addressing any issues or concerns they may encounter during their routes.
Maintain open communication with drivers to ensure efficient operations.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs and delivery receipts (PODs).

Office Duties: Answer phone calls and emails from customers, resolving issues promptly.
Assist in the preparation of quotes and invoices.
Manage administrative tasks related to transport operations.

Driving Responsibilities: Occasionally you will need to drive to provide holiday cover and assist with loading and unloading. This being said its essential you have a Class 2 HGV License.

• Valid CPC with a clean driving license.


• Proven experience in Courier or Haulage Controlling.


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Willingness to occasionally drive as needed.
