Full Job Description

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on solving our most complex business problems. Receiving high level business challenges, you will be adept in understanding root causes and recommending tactical and strategic initiatives to provide results in the short term and solve efficiently in the long term. You will then be expected to deliver these cross functional programmes to improve performance in line with company objectives and goals and demonstrate benefits delivered to the Senior Leadership Team.

What will you be doing?

Leading business improvement

  • We undertake a range of projects and will often take a business challenge and apply continuous improvement principles to understand issue, understand root cause before coming up with solution plans.

  • The role requires people who are experienced in business improvement and have proven many times over they can create a project from a business challenge and then go onto deliver the changes to make the desired impact.


  • Project & Change Management
  • The business is constantly adapting and evolving, a process which generates a significant number of projects, the coordination and performance management of which is vital to the sustainability of the business. The Transformation Manager will ensure that these projects and developed and managed within a coherent framework by:


  • Defining project scope, governance and test plans to determine success

  • Planning, designing and proactively monitoring key project progress; resolving issues and initiating appropriate action

  • Setting up monitoring of KPIs and clearly demonstrate benefit of changes

  • Managing communications with all stakeholders

  • Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects.

  • Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals.

  • Correctly identifying critical paths, risks and issues as early as possible.


  • Delivery / Implementation of change
  • Guide and support management in the implementation of operational improvement initiatives, liaising closely with the Leadership Team (LT) as appropriate to achieve improvements with a positive and measurable impact to the business.


  • Create and deliver transformation plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

  • Identify resource requirements and assign responsibilities

  • Ensure change is landed effectively within the operation by gaining buy in across all levels within the organisation.

  • Champion project management disciplines in change initiatives, providing appropriate processes, structures, tools, reporting and governance for individual projects.


  • Delivering success
  • You will design and deliver improvement programmes across processes utilising excellent business improvement and project management tools and techniques.

  • Initiate strong governance in line with the Hyperoptic project management methodology and ensure policies are adhered to.

  • You will develop strong working relationships across all business teams and at all levels of the organisation, ensuring your programmes are aligned, and signed off as contributing to the wider Hyperoptic strategy.


  • Reporting
  • Providing regular reporting on progress to senior leadership team as required.

  • Utilisation of project management techniques to set deliverables and milestones.

  • Ensure effective fiscal reporting, working closely with finance to track benefits

  • Effective reporting of KPIs at the appropriate level, dependent on audience.

    Experience within the Telco industry as well as a consulting background is essential , Experience within the Telco industry

  • Experience from a consulting, programme/project management background

  • Application of Lean / six sigma principles to quickly and systematically understand the root causes of business problems and come up with impactful solutions that have a clearly defined benefit

  • This role requires strong stakeholder management skills due to regular exposure to the Senior Leadership Team and because this role is key in influencing and ensuring collaboration between stakeholders who may have different priorities

  • Degree or equivalent experience

  • Programme management accreditation / knowledge

  • Business Improvement accreditation / knowledge

  • Experience in creating and analysing data sources, leveraging outputs to identify opportunities or creating performance KPIs
