Full Job Description

If you have an interest in health and wellbeing, want a career in a varied and interesting sector, and have a background in health or sports science, we are interested in you.

Peritus Health Management is a private occupational health and occupational hygiene service provider based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire providing services to customers Nationwide. Based from home, our Regional Occupational Health Technicians travel to our customers' sites in their bespoke mobile screening vans, undertake quality fitness for work or health surveillance screening surveillances and provide safe, healthy lifestyle advice tailored to the employees.

On joining the business, you will be put on an intensive training programme based at our office in Brighouse for 14 days within the first 6 weeks, gaining nationally recognised qualifications in screening audiometry, performing and interpreting spirometry, hand arm vibration screening, drugs and alcohol testing and skins assessments.

Once you have completed the Occupational Health Technician training and have demonstrated clinical competency, you will be set up with a mobile screening van (which will be located at your home or lock up base), and all the clinical and IT equipment required to fulfil the role. As our team meets regularly, you will be required to attend our office at least once per month to participate in training and other work activities.

A car owner/driver with a minimum of two years driving experience after test is required for insurance purposes. We are anticipating that the Region will include sites in the North West but may involve some travel outside those areas occasionally.

You will be required to travel as part of the role and will be required to do night shifts or overnight stays from time to time. Our usual pattern of work however is Monday - Friday factory / site hours with Friday afternoons allocated to equipment maintenance and cleaning.

As a business we invest in our people and there are lots of opportunities for internal progression within either the occupational health, training, or occupational hygiene field.

Previous experience as an Occupational Health Technician is beneficial but not essential. Experience in Spirometry, Audiometry and Fitness to Drive Medicals, a sports or healthcare background would be a great foundation to launch you into an exciting and dynamic career, so please ring for an informal chat or send through your details if you think this is the right opportunity for you.
