If so, catastrophe modelling could be the career for you. As a Catastrophe Analyst at Everest Insurance International you will model and analyse natural catastrophe risk (e.g. earthquakes, hurricanes and floods) and provide detailed insights to insurance Underwriters so that they can make more informed underwriting decisions.

But in everything we do, the most valued asset are our people., The Cat Analyst will be responsible for the pre-bind pricing of natural catastrophe risk for the Property classes. Depending on the candidates experience and/or area of interest, the role will give an opportunity to provide support to Energy and Marine.
There is significant growth planned for Everest International, with growth across new regions and in new lines of business. They will be integral to the development and embedding of catastrophe modelling capabilities throughout Everest Insurance International. This will be done through the supporting the Property Cat Modelling Manager in the implementation of new tools, development of new cat pricing workflows and methodologies, and working with the team to find innovative efficient solutions to current processes.
This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule of working two days remote each week.
Reporting to the Property Cat Modelling Manager.,

  • Responsible for pre-bind pricing of natural catastrophe risks using AIR vendor models and other external data sources for primarily the Property class of business. There will also be the opportunity to support other lines of business, including Energy & Construction, Fine Art & Specie, Marine Cargo and Aviation

  • Support catastrophe event response reporting (e.g. understanding locations in the path of a hurricane approaching landfall)

  • Communication of cat model output to key stakeholders including Underwriters, Actuarial and Senior Management

  • Communicating with the outsourcing team to ensure data used for cat pricing and aggregations is complete, accurate, and timely

  • Support the development of tools to help automate current cat modelling processes


  • Collaborate, present, and share knowledge with the wider Exposure Management team and Group Exposure Management function

  • Ad hoc Exposure Management projects, as required (current projects to be discussed at interview)

    Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience presenting

  • Strong technical skillset (e.g. Excel / SQL / GIS / PowerBI / Python)

  • Ability to work under own initiative and show flexibility to meet business needs

  • Ambitious and inquisitive, keen to work closely with the wider Cat team, to drive change in the function

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, including Senior Management

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a small dynamic team and build strong working relationships across teams and regions

  • Ability to think differently to find innovative solutions to problems
