A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to apply for this role as Trainee Advanced Practitioner.

The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the clinical and operational team to ensure high quality, recovery focussed care is delivered to our service users.

On completion of the training the post holder will be recognised as an expert practitioner in an identified field of practice, and will advise the MDT on expert, safe and effective models of care and treatment, (including non-medical prescribing) within the Perinatal setting leading to improved patient outcomes. They will be an integral part of the MDT supporting clinical decision making and supporting the service pathways, developing nurse led clinics and providing assessment, formulation, and brief interventions of care, including discharge planning within agreed protocols and procedures.

Trainee Advanced Practitioners will take up components of the role as competences are developed and are demonstrated in practice.

The post holder will effectively be required to work across the range of services as determined by service user need.

The Perinatal Service is commissioned to support women and birthing people throughout Greater Manchester, who experience moderate to severe mental health problems during and after pregnancy, and for their infant up to the age of one year.

The successful candidate must demonstrate their interest and willingness to undertake and successfully complete the MSc in Advanced Practice

Once qualified, the Advanced Practitioner will be recognised as an expert practitioner within mental health with a special interest within perinatal mental health. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking advanced clinical assessments and formulating evidenced based, collaborative treatment plans for those under the specialist perinatal community team. This will include the use of non-medical prescribing with a focus on physical health.

The Advanced Practitioner will be recognised as a clinical leader within the service and will have an active involvement in service delivery.

The post holder will be part of the multidisciplinary team and will provide expert clinical advice to support the delivery of effective evidenced based care whilst improving the knowledge of the workforce.
